The Church of Agia Skepe in the Academy courtyard is the institution’s chapel, dedicated to the Most Holy Theotokos of the Holy Protection. It is the center of the Academy’s liturgical life. Weekly liturgical gatherings are held there (every Tuesday), in which students participate sacramentally as members of the Church and the academic community; they practice chanting, homiletics, ritual and typicon, and train in service at the Holy Altar, since their ultimate goal is ordination and entry into the ministry of the Church.
